Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The parsing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. There is no server involved and nothing is stored. Close the tab and it's gone.

Where do I find My Clippings.txt?

Connect your Kindle to a computer with a USB cable. It appears as a drive. Open the documents folder and you'll find My Clippings.txt there. It contains every highlight and note you've ever made on that device.

Does this work with Kindle app highlights?

My Clippings.txt only exists on Kindle e-readers, not the phone app. If you only use the app, you can export highlights from the Amazon notebook page and paste the text in.

Why is this free?

Because it's a small piece of something bigger. ClearRead is a paid app that turns highlights and books into active reading and spaced review. This viewer is the part everyone needs, so it's open to everyone.
